The Westside Cultural Connection, is a Washington County arts & culture television program jointly sponsored by the Westside Cultural Alliance (WCA) & Tualatin Valley Community TV (TVCTV). Washington County individuals and cultural organizations have a unique opportunity to televise their work. The purpose of this project is to provide a platform for the many cultural activities in our community through which they can reach their audiences.
- The program will be ½ hour in length and will run quarterly. It will be introduced and closed with the logo and a statement from the Westside Cultural Alliance.
- The format of the program is magazine style which means that there may be 3 segments at 5 minutes each, 2 segments at 12.5 minutes, or a full 25 minute segment.
- The program will be cablecast at least three times on TVCTV channels 11 and/or 23.
- The program will be professionally produced by TVCTV staff. To include pre-recorded footage, please contact
- Material supplied by the applicant will be screened for quality and content.
- Individuals and organizations working in the fields of arts, heritage or humanities are invited to submit program proposals using the WCA TV Magazine form. WCA and TVCTV will review applicants.
- For programs with an interview format, the host will be provided by the WCA.
- The fee for participants is $100 for the first five minute segment and $75 for each subsequent five minute segment. Pre-recorded footage not needing audio and/or graphics editing will be eligible for a 10% discount. Reproductions of the program will cost $10.00 per 120 minute VHS copy.
- Participants will be asked to sign a release form.
Tualatin Valley Community TV is a non-profit organization administering to the Public,
Educational and Government media access needs of Washington County and Lake Oswego. It
is a non-commercial format. TVCTV Has five channels on the Comcast Cable system with the potential to reach 118,000 locally and 400,000 households in the Metro area on channel 11.
