BEAVERTON, Ore. – The City of Beaverton is seeking applications from artists, performers, musicians, and organizations representing cultures around the world to participate in the Beaverton International Celebration and share with attendees as we celebrate our community’s racial and ethnic diversity. This year’s free event will be held on Saturday, Sept. 16 from 1 to 6 p.m. at the Tualatin Hills Athletic Center, 50 NW 158th Ave.
This indoor afternoon of art, dance, music, and interactive activities will showcase the many cultures in Beaverton.
Groups are invited to apply to give free short workshops to attendees, including dance, art, crafts, cooking, and more. Exhibitors may also sell handmade cultural items or artwork, but the focus should be on free public demonstrations.
Dance and cultural performance groups selected by the festival committee will receive a stipend of $500.
There is no cost to participate. Interested vendors should visit www.BeavertonOregon.gov/InternationalCelebration to apply. The deadline to apply is Monday, July 17 by 5 p.m. All applicants will be notified of their selection status by Friday, Aug. 4.
